Frístundir Ísland Parents´ Evenings will offer presentations and other special events for parents. The first presentations are informative wine tasting courses. Frístundir Ísland has teamed up with Steingrímur Sigurgeirsson of www.vinotek.is and author of Heimur Vínsins - The World of Wine, published 2000. Steingrímur presentations will teach the novice amongst us how to appreciate good wines from around the world. Come along for wine tasting and much more!

France is in many ways the key to the world of wine. Most contemporary wine styles originate in France and it is the original home of grape varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. We will discuss key aspects of french winemaking and wine regions as well as tasting some typically french wines.

The diversity of European wine making is stunning. We will take a trip through some of its most fascinating wine region in Italy, Spain and Germany to mention some.

Wines from the New World have gained immense popularity. We will get more familiar with the wine making of countries like Australia, Chile, South Africa and sample some of their wines.
